Is it me or is American Education messed up?

There is a problem with education in this country on ALL levels and it all comes down to money! We throw more and more money at the schools giving the feds more control over what can and can't happen in every individual public school. It is sick and wrong with any administrator makes a six figure income for sitting at a desk and making decisions when our schools test scores are suffering and they have done nothing to improve that! But, I KNOW schools where the top educators are earning a six figure income, along with incredible benefits and full pension while the teacher's aide - who is really trying to do all of the real work in educating - gets paid $7/hr for part-time work with no benefits. Once that teacher's aide decides to get married and needs a real paid position - they are gone and so are the most effective REAL best teachers who could acutally make a difference. Then we have the teachers who are getting paid $40K with their pension and benefits but are constantly being in a position of begging for more like they are paupers! Most of their students parents don't make that much and don't have a union to go to court for them! Then we have states like IL - who try to convince the parents that we MUST raise taxes or make huge staff cuts. Of course, they cut out the lowest paid - real educators - leaving us with the selfish administrators and a few good teachers who have to take on way more work than is humanly possible to do! On that level, what we need to do - is get the unions out of the way and pay teachers according to RESULTS - just like the rest of us. I don't care if they were educated at Harvard or the local public college - they need to be paid for results not for tenure or for the huge "sacrifices" they make. Guess what? Anyone who works any full-time job has to make incredible sacrifices - except most of us don't get summers and holidays OFF and PAID. First, we need to take the public school system out of the money making scam and get the focus back on EDUCATING without having to dump more money in. We need to end the six figure incomes and normalize salaries. We have turned it into a racket. We need to slow down on the pensions and incredible benefits and step things back a bit because the economy is hurting. But, government workers are still getting their raises! I think the only way to fix primary education K-12 is to actually go back to the colonial days where teachers didn't expect the world on a silver platter. They did it to educate the children - not to get a pension and ever increasing salaries. We'd have to go pre-technology and stop with the government mandates and controls. But, people in every part of the political spectrum only get into office based on money from unions - we need to take the money out of public service and make people run for office on their own personal donations. We have to take the money motivation away. That is where it starts anyway. With the college educational system, it's broken again because administrators and teachers expect to get paid incredible salaries, benefits and pensions. They train students more in the way of money and politics by their system of awarding a free ride to the best athletes. They behave like a rich game show - awarding prizes to whom they choose rather than really caring about the students. To fix that, we can't use taxes because it's just sick and wrong to control every aspect of society by the feds imposing taxes. So, I think we have to have income caps for teachers and administrators on all levels because the intention of educating is not supposed to be in order to run a profitable business! Then, we'd be left with the people who are not in it for the money making possibilities and are in it to teach! Leave the battle for a profitable business to businessmen to sell things - not to the people who are supposed to be in the primary work of educating! The same is true of politics today - if we take the money motivation out - we'd be left with mostly people who care about the will of the people and don't sway to a minority who gave the bick bucks to their campaign! We have to put income caps on any job that is government or education related and get the businessmen back to the dog eat dog world of selling products and out of what is supposed to be the purpose of educating, leading the country and bending to the will of the majority of Americans - the will of the people.
